National emblem of France
The national emblem of France is used since 1953. An official state emblem no longer exists since 1912.
Description
Since the era of Jacques Chirac a presentation from 1912 is mainly used.
History
After the French Revolution, all emblems were removed, which related to the monarchy. This meant that France is the only European country which carries no coat of arms. Today's state symbol was introduced in 1905 and 1953, supplemented by the Grand Master of the Legion of Honour chain.
