National Forest Corporation (Chile)

Corporación Nacional Forestal ( CONAF ) is the Chilean Forest Service.

It was founded in 1970 by the Ministry of Agriculture and monitored inter alia, the 32 National Parks ( Parques Nacionales ), 47 nature reserves and 13 national monuments of Chile with a total area of 140,000 km ².

The most famous reserve in Chile is the National Park Torres del Paine in the Chilean part of Patagonia, north of Punta Arenas and Puerto Natales.
