National Order Party

The National Order Party ( Turkish: Milli Nizam Partisi - MNP) was an Islamist political party in Turkey. The MNP was the first political party of the Μilli - Görüş movement.

The party was founded on January 26, 1970 by Necmettin Erbakan. The first members of the MNP were former members of the Islamist- oriented Justice Party ( Adalet Partisi - AP ). The National Order Party advocated Islamic moral values ​​and nationalist sentiments and defended a statist economic policies and a state-controlled industrial development policy. After the military coup of 1971, the party was banned by the Constitutional Court because of their " activities against secularism ".
