National Party of Honduras

The Partido Nacional de Honduras (PNH; National Party of Honduras ) is a Honduran political party.

The color of the PNH is blue. Main rival is the Partido Liberal de Honduras with the color red all elections in the history of Honduras were each dominated by the struggle between these two parties. The PNH ruled the country between 1933 and 1957.

In the parliamentary elections in Honduras in 2001 on 25 November 2001, the PNH reached 46.5 % of the vote and 61 of the 128 seats in Parliament ( Congreso Nacional). The candidate of the PNH Ricardo Maduro was elected with 52.2 % at the president.

In the parliamentary elections in Honduras in 2005 on 27 November 2005, the PNH lost its majority and had to go into opposition. She placed 55 of the 128 seats in parliament. Even in the presidential election, the candidate Porfirio Lobo Sosa PNH was defeated with 46.2 % of the votes Manuel Zelaya.
