National Resurrection Party

The Party of the Resurrection of the people ( Lithuanian: Tautos prisikėlimo partija, in short: TPP) was a political party in Lithuania, founded in April 2008, six months before the elections to Parliament, the comedian, show host and TV producer Arūnas Valinskas been.

History

The founding congress of May 18, 2008, repeated on 25 May 2008, to address concerns about the necessary number of founders ( 1000). The members of the party are mainly actors, musicians and other representatives of show business (including the drummer Linas Karalius, the radio host Antanas Nedzinskas, the singer Ingrida Valinskienė and the actor Remigijus Vilkaitis ) what the party žvaigždūnų nicknamed partija (Star Party) or has entered šoumenų partija ( Show people Party ). Others speak of an anti- political entity.

After the protest parties Order and Justice ( Liberal Democrats ) and the Labor Party is another new foundation of recent years, which justified its existence, particularly in the rejection of the established parties. The party itself claims to have not been previously active politicians in their ranks.

The party and its election advertising was not to be denied a penchant for satire (see links). Thus, the entire election programs of 10 points was similar to the 10 commandments. Regardless of which party was in the election to the Seimas in October 2008 with 15.1% of the valid votes second strongest political force in Lithuania and forms with 18 mandates, the third largest party in Parliament.

The resurrection Party will support the new liberal- conservative coalition government and is the minister of culture and environmental protection. The party chairman Arūnas Valinskas was elected with the votes of the Coalition for Parliament Chairman.

On March 15, 2009 Arūnas Valinskas was confirmed at the party unopposed as Chairman and adopted the new party statutes. In April 2009, the Lithuanian Ministry of Justice refused to recognize the new party statutes for technical reasons, since the signature of the party chairman Valinskas missing. This decision was upheld by the District Administrative Court Vilnius. On April 3, the party chairman Valinskas withdrew his candidacy for the presidential elections on 17 June 2009 before the Election Commission could make its official registration with the review of the required 20,000 votes support.

After the bitter defeat at the European elections in early June 2009, when the TPP could account for only 1 % of the electorate votes, broke out discussions about the future course of the party.

In mid-July 2009, there was a first split in the party, when seven members of the parliamentary faction of TPP adopted and in turn the new faction Ąžuolas (oak) founded. Among the members of this new group are the party leader Arūnas Valinskas and his wife Ingrida Valinskienė. Trigger for the faction split was probably an intra-party dispute over the control of the TPP ministers and a possible renewal of the ministerial posts. Valinskas spoke at the formation of the new group from the "Post greed" of his colleagues in the TPP Group, while his inner-party opponents spoke of trying to want to prevent a democratic party leadership.

On September 22, 2011, the TPP joined the co-ruling Liberalų ir centro sąjunga and broke up with it.
