The Droga Krajowa 91 (short DK91, pol. For, National Road 91 'or' country road 91 ' ) is a country road in Poland. The first section of Gdansk to Toruń is 200 km long, the second of Kowal to Łódź 81.7 km and the third 105 km long from Tuszyn to Częstochowa. Between the ocean border crossing at the port of Danzig ( ger.: Gdańsk port) and the node Rusocin at Pruszcz Gdański the country road is part of European route 75, between the ocean crossing and the node Gdańsk - Lipce part of the European route 77

History

The reform of the numbering of all state roads on 9 May 2001 in parallel to the toll motorways running distances were 91 to 99 assigned to the numbers. The section between Tuszyn about Piotrków to Częstochowa was designated as the first national road 91, since it represents an alternative route to the parallel portion of the A1/Landesstraße 1 motorway. As part of the so-called Gierkówka the time of the People's Republic of Poland a new route between Piotrków and Częstochowa was built to provide a faster connection between Warsaw and Katowice. The old route is now part of the national road 91

With the completion of the running parallel to the main road 1 sections of the A1 motorway, the route of the national road 1 was rezoned from national road 91. This happened in 2011 completely between Gdansk and Torun and 2012 between Kowal and the node Lodz Polnoc.

Truck toll

On 1 July 2012, the truck toll was introduced on the sections between the nodes and Nowe Marzy Rusocin and between Świecie - Ulica Bydgoska and Toruń. The reason was that the truck traffic on the road then free country increased after the introduction of electronic truck toll on 1 July 2011, at about 70%. Now the introduction of tolls should ensure that the truck traffic moved again in part to the toll, parallel A1 motorway.
