National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine

The National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine (Ukrainian: Національний симфонічний оркестр України ) is a Ukrainian Symphony Orchestra.

History

The orchestra was founded in 1918. During the Soviet era, the orchestra was named as the USSR State Symphony Orchestra. The orchestra plays under such famous conductors as Kurt Sanderling, Evgeny Mravinsky, Leopold Stokowski, Igor Markevitch, Kirill Kondrashin, Yevgeny Svetlanov. Work world-renowned soloists such as Arthur Rubinstein, Isaac Stern, Yehudi Menuhin, Montserrat Caballé, Josep Carreras, David Oistrakh, Sviatoslav Richter, Mstislav Rostropovich, Gidon Kremer With the orchestra. Since 1999, Volodymyr Sirenko artistic director and chief conductor of the orchestra.
