National Trust for Historic Preservation

The National Trust for Historic Preservation ( German as: "National Trust Company for Preserving History " ) is an American non-profit organization funded primarily by private membership fees. It was created in 1949 by a statute of the United States Congress into being to support the preservation of historic buildings and neighborhoods through a range of programs and activities. History

In 1947 a meeting of David E. Finley, Jr. was summoned, which resulted in the creation of the National Council for Historic Sites and Buildings.
