Natko Zrnčić-Dim

Natko Zrncic - Dim [ natkɔ zrntʃitɕ dim] ( born March 7, 1986 in Zagreb) is a Croatian alpine skier. It runs in the World Cup in all disciplines with the exception of the giant slalom, but has been particularly successful in combinations.

Biography

In November 2001 Zrncic - Dim denied first FIS races. His first try in the World Cup he had on 13 December 2004 at the slalom in Sestriere. World Cup points, he reached in early 2008 exclusively in the super combined, for the first time in December 2005 as 24th in Val d'Isere. Zrncic - Dim was at the 2006 Olympics in four disciplines at the start and reached the best result rank 25 in the giant slalom.

The Super Combined developed into Zrncic - Dims specialist discipline in the 2007/ 08 season he was 13th in Beaver Creek, reaching in Wengen ninth even a place in the top ten. A week later, he made the 18th place in the Hahnenkamm downhill on the Streif. 3 February 2008 Zrncic - Dim reached the third place in the super combined in Val d'Isere his first podium in the World Cup. Also, he was third on 25 January 2009 in the Hahnenkamm in Kitzbühel combination - as in Val d'Isere directly behind compatriot Ivica Kostelic. At the World Championships in 2009, he first achieved a 19th place in the downhill - his best to date World Cup result. After the sixth place in the combination of departure, he took advantage of the good starting point and eventually won the bronze medal in the super combined, a hundredth of a second ahead of Switzerland's Silvan Zurbriggen.

A third place in the super combination of Beaver Creek was the best World Cup result Croats in the season 2009/10. He also reached the 10th place in the Hahnenkamm downhill in Kitzbühel be the first and only top ten result in a specialized discipline. In total and in the discipline World Cups he could on previous years continue to improve. At the Olympic Winter Games 2010 in Vancouver Zrncic - Dim took part in all five competitions, reaching the best results on the 19th place in the slalom and rank 20 in the super combined.

On 30 January 2011 Zrncic - Dim scored his best result so far in the World Cup, when he finished second in the super combined in Chamonix and took the winner Ivica Kostelic, together with the first Croatian two victory in the World Cup. Two weeks later he won at the World Championships 2011 in Garmisch -Partenkirchen to eighth place in this discipline. After four years in which Zrncic - Dim was driven in each case a World Cup race on the podium, he remained in the 2011/12 season for the first time without a podium finish. His best result was the fifth place in the Super Combined in Wengen. On 1 December 2012 Zrncic - Dim suffered in a fall in the super -G of Beaver Creek injuries to the left shoulder. After surgery, he was sidelined the remainder of the season.
