NATO Support Agency

The NATO Maintenance and Supply Agency ( NAMSA ) (French: Agence OTAN d' entretien et d' approvisionnement ) was a logistical service organization for the NATO countries. She had the task of ensuring the cost-effective and efficient care of those weapons systems that are in use in several NATO countries. Users agree contractually to transfer selected tasks for the system NAMSA. The NAMSA in turn includes the necessary industrial contracts. The seat of the NAMSA was in chapels (municipality Mamer ) in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

The NAMSA 2012 employed approximately 1,100 people in Luxembourg ( head office), France and Italy. The activities of the NAMSA set by the NATO Maintenance and Supply Organization ( NAMSO ), which included 28 nations, with the aim to achieve maximum effectiveness at minimum cost for supervised weapons systems. The supervision of the NAMSA was ensured by a "Board of Directors", which oversaw the implementation of the guidelines.

The main activities of NAMSA included the task fields replenishment, maintenance, purchasing, technical studies and support.

As part of NATO Agenturrenreform NAMSA was dissolved on 30 June 2012 and 1 July 2012 in the NATO Support Agency ( NSPA ) transferred with two other NATO agencies.
