The stadium Nattenberg is a combined football and athletics stadium in the Westphalian city Lüdenscheid. The stadium was rebuilt in 1972 for the wedding of the then second division side Rot-Weiß Lüdenscheid.

The stadium features a covered grandstand with a wooden roof and has space for 17,000 spectators. Equipped with a floodlit multi-purpose arena has a plastic raceway and other athletics facilities.

In March 2009 it was announced that the stadium is to be completely rebuilt. After the conversion will accommodate, instead of the current 17,000 in the stadium only 4,999 people.

Major Games

The stadium was used very much until his conversion in 2009 for test matches. 1998 met here in the League Cup Bayer 04 Leverkusen and MSV Duisburg on each other. The meeting on 31 July 1998 ended in a 3-0 win for Leverkusen. Also in 2001, the Nattenbergstadion hosted the League Cup. Borussia Dortmund and FC Schalke 04 separated on 17 July 2001 1:2.

In 2006, the stadium was Nattenberg venue of the World Championship of people with disabilities. In the semifinals, the later world champion Saudi Arabia South Africa defeated 2-0.

The European Football Championship Women Sweden (2:1) instead - June 28, 1989 took place in the semi-finals Nattenberg Stadium Norway.
