Recording and publication

After the personnel changes in 2003 this was the first album of the band with a new cast. In recording respects the band dared not experimentation and resumed with Henri Sorvali, this time in Walltone studio. Again, the artwork came back from rhythm guitarist Samuli " Skrymer " Ponsimaa.

The album was released as a regular CD and as a colored LP.

Music style

After the largely folk - oriented Visor om Slutet returned Finntroll back to embossed with Jaktens Tid style and took it minor changes.

Outstanding was the composition sung choruses. On previous albums, a theme similar instrumental melody had stood on the site of most choruses. This was accompanied by structural changes as well as the song material is now often included strophic songs. In contrast, previously composed songs with many variations of moods and tempo had dominated.

Furthermore, the instrumentation had changed a little. Increasingly, a banjo has now been used, also choral passages were to be found. In addition was also the electric guitar, which had previously focused on riffs, used melody leader.

All in all presented themselves Finntroll on Nattfödd structurally simpler, melodically more complex.

Title list

Trollhammaren EP

In January 2004, appeared before the album the EP Trollhammaren, which also included four songs not included on the album next to the title song. To eponymous piece a music video was filmed.

Försvinn You Som Lyser is a re-recording of the om already on Visor Slutet song contained. It was omitted in the original on the typical rock instrumentation, in the re-recording electric guitar, keyboard, bass guitar and drums were included, however.
