Nausdorf Canal

The Nausdorfer channel is in the northwest of Brandenburg.

It connects the lake with the Rambower Rudow lake. The canal runs through the Rambower Moor past the small town Nausdorf, a district of Lenzen. In the 15th century there was a mill stream that powered the Nausdorfer water mill that had existed until 1833. The canal was built in 1862-1879 and 1924/25, expanded to its present size.

The channel is about 5 km long and was 8 to 10 m broad, today he is probably in some places max. 3 m wide. Its depth is about 1 m, on the base there is a thick layer of mud.

The water is not navigable. Larger deposits of white fish make it popular with anglers.
