Návsí

Návsí ( Nawsi German, Polish Nawsie ) is a municipality with 3,789 inhabitants in Okres Frýdek- Místek in the Moravian-Silesian Region Region ( Moravian Silesia) in the Czech Republic.

Geography

The place is located immediately northwest of the city Jablunkov in 386 m asl opposite the mouth of the Jasení on the right bank of the Olsa in Jablunkov furrow ( Jablunkovská Brázda ) at the foot of the Silesian and Moravian- Silesian Beskids.

History

The first mention of the town was in a privilege Duke Wenceslas I of Teschen in 1435. He belonged to the Duchy of Teschen and fell together with it in 1653 as a completed fief to the crown of Bohemia, which was ruled by the Habsburgs since 1526. After the First Silesian War in 1742 Nawsi belonged to Austrian Silesia. In 1872 received a railway connection to the Košice- Berger web.

After the collapse of k.k. Monarchy between Poland and Czechoslovakia in the Polish - Czechoslovak border war controversial Nawsi was awarded to Czechoslovakia after the final conference of Spa.

In 1960, the annexation to Jablunkov and since 1994 Návsí is independent again.
