Nayyar Ali Dada

Nayyar Ali Dada ( born November 11, 1943 in Delhi, Urdu نیر علی دادا ) is a Pakistani architect.

Life

Dada Nayyar Ali Zaidi was born and received his famous last name of an art and drawing teacher. He comes from a Muslim Indian family who emigrated in the 1950s from Delhi to Lahore. There Dada matriculated in 1957 at the University of the Punjab. In 1959, he moved to Pakistan National College of Arts, from which he graduated in 1964 and there took up a job as a lecturer. In 1976 he was appointed a Fellow of the College.

In the early 1970s Dada opened a small architectural office in Lahore. With the design of Al -Hamra Arts Complex in Lahore, who are among the first buildings of modern architecture in Pakistan, he gained recognition. Later he was commissioned to the complementary Al -Hamra Open Air Theatre to design.
