NBC Mystery Movie

NBC Mystery Movie was the umbrella term for a number of U.S. television series, produced by Universal Studios and aired from 1971 to 1977 by the National Broadcasting Company.

The NBC Mystery Movies were the most successful form of the so-called wheel series, a format in which several different trains run alternately broadcast at the same time and thus form a unit, often under a common name, the so-called umbrella title.

The first broadcast in this context series were: McCloud, Columbo and McMillan & Wife. The NBC Mystery Movies were from the start a great success and demonstrated in the Nielsen ratings, that of audience in the United States, in the years 1971/2 on the 14th Place. In the format launched various, and later solo very successful series, so next Columbo eg Quincy.
