ND Gorica

Nogometno Društvo Gorica is a Slovenian football club from the border town of Nova Gorica. The Association shall be called because the main sponsor also HIT Gorica and currently plays in the Slovenian league.

History

The club was founded in October 1947 as a Slovenian football club, when the city of Gorizia was divided according to the Treaty of Paris between Italy and Slovenia.

ND Gorica 1991 was one of the 21 founding members of the first SNL and plays since then continuously top notch. In 1996, the first championship in club history when you could let the previous series champions NK Olimpija Ljubljana behind. This allowed the first participation in an international competition, Vardar Skopje but proved to be too strong in both games and won with 1:0 and 2:1.

In the following season, you could qualify as a third party for the UEFA Cup, where they failed in the second round at FC Bruges this time. Also in the following years get top rankings that time after time meant a well qualified for the international competitions. However, it was not until 2001, the next title win, when the club prevailed in the two Cup finals against Olimpija Ljubljana. After a 0-1 first-leg defeat managed a 4-2 win in the return leg. The following year, the title could be defended, Aluminij Kidricevo lost both games with 0:4 or 1:2.

2004-2006 ND Gorica could each decide the national championship. 2005 you missed the Double narrowly, as one unfortunate lost the cup final by an own goal from Vladislav Lungu against NK Celje 0:1.
