Ndere Island

Ther Iceland is a small Kenyan island located in the southeast of Lake Victoria. The island was named in November 1986 for Ndere Iceland National Reserve and has been uninhabited. Ther means in Luo as much as a meeting place; first settlers of the region, which drove up the Nile, use the island as a resting point.

On the island, African Fish Eagle, sailors, hippos and Nile crocodiles are native.
