Nea-Nidelvvassdraget

Nea - Nidelvvassdraget is a river system in Norway. It is located in the municipalities Tydal, Selbu, Klæbu and Trondheim in Sør-Trøndelag Fylke and ends with the Nidelva in Trondheim in Trondheim Fjord. The catchment area covers 3100 km ² and extends 160 kilometers from the Swedish border from Sylan to the Trondheim Fjord. Trondheim Energiverk (TEV ) operates 15 hydroelectric power plants in the river system, which is highly regulated. The total annual output is 2,600 GWh. By 1890 began the development of hydropower Kraftverk with the Øvre Leirfoss.
