Neal McDonough

Neal McDonough ( born February 13, 1966 in Dorchester, Massachusetts) is an American actor, who achieved notoriety in Band of Brothers for his role of Lynn 'Buck ' Compton.

Life

McDonough grew up in Cape Cod on the most recent of six children. His parents, Frank and Kitty McDonough were both born in Ireland. When he got into high school, he played in a senior class production of the musical You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown and since then knew that he wanted to be an actor. When he opted for the Syracuse University, he was described by his father as crazy. In 1988 he left the university with a Bachelor in Fine Arts. He was sports involvement during college and now plays even tennis, golf and notes with stars such as Jason Priestley, Denis Leary and David Boreanaz attend fundraisers.

His current wife met McDonough on arrival in the UK for the filming of Band of Brothers. The South African model Ruve Robertson he married on 1 December 2003 in a church in Beverly Hills.

Career

He had in 1990 in the movie Darkman his film debut. His breakthrough came with the miniseries Band of Brothers as Lynn 'Buck ' Compton. McDonough, who is a big Star Trek fan, long had the dream of being able to play in a Star Trek movie. This wish was fulfilled in 1996, when he was in Star Trek: First Contact took on a supporting role.

He also acted in television series such as The X-Files - with The Files and Profiler. In the fifth season of the television series Desperate Housewives he played the husband of Edie Britt, Dave Williams. Furthermore, McDonough wrote a screenplay for Ice Hockey Players on the Eddie Shore and worked as a co-author of Bill Johnson for Heartbreak Hill.

In 2012, he was seen as Mafia gangsters Robert Quarles in the third season of Justified as an opponent of Timothy Olyphant and Walton Goggins.
