Nechung

The Nechung Monastery is a Buddhist monastery of the Gelug school in the area of Lhasa in the Tibet Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China. The monastery is situated near the Drepung Monastery. It is the site of the Nechung oracle, which is consulted by the Dalai Lama on important matters. This " state oracle " was located initially at Samye monastery and was moved in the 17th century at the time of the Fifth Dalai Lama to here.

Founding myth

This was the name Lama Cogpa ​​that place and left it there then allegedly built the monastery.
