Since then, the Neckar Valley Railway used the route through the whole 2487 meter long tunnel king chair, the had previously only used the freight trains to the now decommissioned Heidelberg yard.

As from the fifties of the twentieth century also many main lines of the DB were electrified, and the Neckar Valley Railway Heidelberg Heilbronn came under the contact wire.

The platform level of the rest of the stations in Heidelberg to Neckarelz was increased to 76 inches to allow a ground-level entry into the S-Bahn. All platforms have a length of 140 meters.

The continuous hedge Neil trains from Frankfurt to Stuttgart were set in December 2004, after the state of Baden- Württemberg had no more interest in it.

The section Mosbach- Neckarelz bath Friedrich -Jagstfeld -Heilbronn to be recorded in June 2014 in the network of light rail Heilbronn.
