Neerwinden

Neerwinden is a little haven of land in the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant (1815-1962: Province of Liège ).

The place was famous for two battles:

• July 29 (also called Battle of Landen ) 1693 victory of the French under Marshal of Luxembourg on the allied Dutch and the English under William of Orange, and
• March 18, 1793 Battle of Neerwinden, victory of the Austrians under Prince Josias of Coburg, Charles de Croix Clerfait the French troops of Charles -François Dumouriez, who had the evacuation of Belgium by the French result
