Nefertkau I

Neferetkau was a princess of the ancient Egyptian 4th dynasty pharaoh Sneferu and a daughter of. She had a son named Nefermaat who held the office of vizier. About a husband of Neferetkau nothing is known. Inscriptions in her son and her grandson's grave Snofruchaef have Kurt Sethe, causes to regard as the father of Nefermaat Neferetkaus own father Sneferu. George Andrew Reisner, however, was able to refute by new finds this theory.

Grave

Neferetkau most likely belongs the mastaba G 7050 on the Eastern Cemetery of the Pyramid of Cheops. It bears no inscriptions, but does the direct structural connection of this mastaba near those of her son (G 7060 ) and her grandson (G 7070 ) that it was intended for Neferetkau. The grave was used during the Saite or Ptolemaic period for Neubestattungen and has strong damage today.
