Neil Parish

Neil Parish ( born May 26, 1956 in Bridgwater, Somerset ) is a British Conservative Party politician and since 2010 a member of the House of Commons. Previously, he was from 1999 to 2009 Member of the European Parliament.

Parish worked as a farmer in Somerset and went through various municipal offices in politics. After his election to the European Parliament in the 1999 European elections in 2001 he was spokesman for the Christian Democrat and conservative EPP-ED group in agricultural issues and a member of the Group Executive Board. In 2007 he was Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development, he was also a member of the Committee on Fisheries.

After the 2009 European elections Parish resigned from the European Parliament. A year later he won at the British general election of 2010 seat

Neil Parish is married and has a son and a daughter.
