Neil Tennant

Neil Francis Tennant (* July 10 1954 in North Shields, Northumberland ) is a British musician and music journalist. Together with Chris Lowe he founded in London in 1981, the Pet Shop Boys.

Life

As a child, Neil attended St. Cuthbert's, a Roman Catholic school in Newcastle (South ). As a student he was particularly interested in for drawings and poems. The autobiographical song This must be the place I waited years to leave refers to his early life in school. The international hit It's A Sin sparked a controversy because it explicitly criticized the Roman Catholic education.

1975 Tennant worked a short time as an editor for the UK branch of Marvel Comics and transferred to the comics dialogue from American English into British English. Before he was the Pet Shop Boys with Chris Lowe in the early 80's, he also worked for the magazine Smash Hits. He was also editor of the " Dairy Book Of Home Management ", which was published in 1981 and was distributed by a well-known British milk suppliers to all households.
