Nejc Dežman
Nejc Dežman (* December 7, 1992 in Kranj ) is a Slovenian ski jumper. He was 2012 World Junior Champion.
Career
Dežman made his international debut at the 2008 FIS Junior competitions. In December 2008, he starts 18 -year-old for the first time in the FIS Cup. With only nine points from the 2008/ 09 FIS Cup season, he finished at the end of the 210th place in the overall standings. In the Slovenian ski jumping championships in 2009 in Kranj he reached together with Matej Dobovšek, Jure Bogataj and Rok Urbanc fifth place in the team competition. After two top-20 finishes in the Alpine Cup in Oberstdorf in October 2009, he started in the 2009/10 season in the FIS Cup. However, he came across a 211 square does not exceed in the overall standings. After another rather unsuccessful appearance in the 2010 Alpine Cup, he started for Slovenia at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in the Estonian junior Otepaeae. There he reached the 5th place team in the team competition and 39th in the individual competition.
On 20 February 2011, he was on his home hill in Kranj his debut in the FIS Ski Jumping Continental Cup, but reached it only the 47th. After he started the rest of the season in the FIS Cup and in the Alpine Cup, he got the chance to start again in July for the Summer Continental Cup, but was disqualified. In September 2011 he reached in Klingenthal with sixth place his best result so far in the Continental Cup and also the first time a place in the top ten. From the winter season 2011/12 he was determined to Continental Cup squad of Slovenes and reached consistently points standings. Therefore, he was on 15 January 2012 on Kulm first to start the way in Ski Jumping World Cup. When he reached the ski flying in both competitions is not the second round and landed on the seats 41 and 51
In February 2012 Dežman won the gold medal in the individual competition at the Nordic World Ski Championships in junior Turkish Erzurum. With the team he just missed the podium in fourth place. With his gold medal he also got the opportunity after the Junior World Championships in the World Cup team to jump and on first attempt in Lahti the Qualification and won in show jumping with number 29 his first World Cup points. Also in Trondheim and Oslo, where he achieved his best World Cup result by finishing 17 placements reach him within the points. At season's end Dežman came in 61st place overall.
After Dežman in summer 2012 in the Continental could not convince, he remained for the 2012/13 season in the Continental Cup squad. With two World Cup inserts in Sapporo, Japan in January 2013, he missed with the places 45 and 50 the second passage and the World Cup in Vikersund even the qualification. In February at the Continental on the Bloudkova Velikanka in Planica he reached with the places 12 and 13 re- rankings within the top twenty.
In the summer of 2013 Dežman in his home Kranj celebrated the first Continental Cup victory of his career. His first Continental Cup victory on snow ersprang he is on 16 January 2013 at Miyanomori -Hill in Sapporo. The following day he followed his second victory.
