Nemuro Province

Nemuro (Japanese根 室 国, Nemuro no kuni ) was an old province of Japan in the area of ​​today's sub-prefecture in the prefecture of Hokkaido Nemuro. It was first founded in the Meiji period.

History

On August 15, 1869 Nemuro was created with five counties in the census of 1872 it had 832 inhabitants. In January 1885 Shikotan the province Chishima was slammed.
