Nena (Band)
Nena was a German music group of the German New Wave, which was active from 1982 to 1987. Their greatest worldwide success was 99 balloons.
History
Through a part-time job in the office of Jim missile as processor fan mail the group Spliff Spliff the members Reinhold Heil and Manfred Praeker were on Nena, whose real name Gabriele Susanne Kerner, attentive and decided to produce her a plate.
In Berlin Spliff Studio the title was recorded in 1982 only dreamed of. This was also published in May 1982, but remained largely ignored. In January 1983, the group released their second single, 99 balloons, which quickly climbed to No. 1 on the German charts, itself held a total of 23 weeks and was greeted with platinum. Carlo Karges died on 30 January 2002 in Hamburg.
2001-2011 published several compilation albums, among others Dance on the Volcano, Definitive Collection ( digitally remastered), Happy - The Singles 1982-2002, One for the Money and The Collection. 2003 feat Nena - 20 years on the 20th anniversary of the group album. Nena released, with new recordings of all the hits that partly deviate significantly from the originals. Involved in this case have Kim Wilde, Udo Lindenberg and Joachim Witt.
