Neon Bible

Neon Bible is the second album by Canadian indie rock band Arcade Fire. It was released on 5 March 2007 in Europe and a day later in the United States. It reached number 2 in the UK and U.S. album charts; in Canada and Ireland even place first

The album was recorded mostly in the Petite Église, a former church in the Canadian Farnham who bought the tape and rebuilt to the recording studio.

Reviews

Neon Bible was, like the previous album Funeral, which gave the band international fame, excellent reviews. So was, for example, the magazine Q the album full marks and it also has named album of the year 2007. Allmusic gave four out of five points, Pitchfork Media 8.4 out of 10 The NME and Rolling Stone Album each received fourth place in the album of 2007 list. Also at Metacritic awarded the album with 87 % a good score.

In addition, the album received the Juno Awards for Best Alternative Album of the Year and the CD / DVD Artwork Design of the Year; the cover had Tracy Maurice and François Miron designed.

Black Mirror was released on 22 January 2007 as a download. As the first recordings the single Keep the Car Running in the UK appeared on 19 March 2007 and in the U.S. on May 8, 2007. The song reached number 56 on the UK Singles Charts. This was followed by intervention (UK: May 21, 2007 and United States: July 10, 2007) and No Cars Go ( 6 August 2007), but did not reach the front chart positions.
