The Nera (Romanian, Hungarian Néra; Serbian Нера / Nera ) is a river in southwestern Romania, is known for its canyon routes. He is in parts border to Serbia.

Course

The Nera springs north of Borlovenii Vechi in Semenic Mountains, which is part of the Banat Mountains. After about. 70 km flows through the Nera between Sopotu Nou and Sasca Română an approximately 30 km long and up to 600 meters deep karst gorge that forms the core area of the national park Neraschluchten (Romanian Cheile Nerei - Beusnita ).
