Nesselpfuhl

The Nesselpfuhl is situated in the northeast of Germany at Lychen lake.

Geography

The Nesselpfuhl is a lake in the district Uckermark at Lychen and part of the Natural Park Uckermärkische lakes. Together with Oberpfuhl city lake and it surrounds the town of Lychen like an island. By Wurlflut is a connection to Wurlsee. In addition, performs a channel connection to the city lake and the Great Lychensee.

Features

The Nesselpfuhl is 21.40 hectares and a maximum of 6 m deep. The water is rich in nutrients and almost fully covered by the water where water lilies and reeds. The wind conditions are bad and the summer Secchi depth under water is 1 m.

Ecology

The main fish species: tench, pike, walleye, perch and eel. Besides osprey also many water birds, such as grebes and coots may be observed. The lake is home to a population of the red-eared slider.
