Netherlands Film Festival
The Netherlands Film Festival ( Dutch: Nederlands Film Festival) is a barred in September and October every year since 1981 in Utrecht Film Festival.
In a period of ten days all Dutch films of the past year are presented. In addition to feature films, the program also includes short films and documentaries, and television productions. On the final evening of the festival, the winners of the Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor and another to be awarded the Golden Calf.
In cooperation with the Dutch Film Fund also the most successful Dutch film productions of the year at the festival named according to their number of visitors: Crystalline film ( 10,000 visitors a documentary ), Golden movie ( 100,000 visitors), platinum film (400,000 visitors), diamond film ( 1,000,000 visitors). In addition to current film productions also some retrospectives on offer at the festival every year and held talk shows, seminars and round tables. History
Initiator of the first festival in 1981 was a native of Utrecht film director Jos Stelling. When building he received support from Wim Verstappen, Rob Houwer and Huub Bals. By 1994 the festival went under the name Dutch Film Festival ( Dutch: Nederlandse Filmdagen ). In the early years the event a cozy gathering of Dutch filmmaker was like at a certain location. Meanwhile, the festival has developed into a very well-attended public event. The 26th edition in 2006 attracted 118,000 visitors. The Netherlands Film Festival 2008 goes from 24 September to 3 October on the stage.
Canon of Dutch film
In the Netherlands Film Festival, the canon of Dutch film was presented ( Canon van de Nederlandse film ) on 11 September 2007. This canon - compiled by a commission headed by Jeltje van Nieuwe Hoven - consists of major, face defining films that reflects the diversity of the Dutch film history. There git a list of important moments and events of the Dutch film history. It takes into account the role of film examination, the importance of film factory Hollandia, the Polygoonjournaal and the advent of the talkies.
