Network Access Server

A Network Access Server (NAS ) is a server that is operated by an Internet Service Provider and allows customers to access the Internet or a corporate intranet network to the legitimate users to access data, and programs (→ see Network Attached Storage ).

The NAS allows only authorized users to access. The authorization check is usually carried out by means of protocol systems such as the IETF RADIUS or Diameter.
