Network society

Network society is a term coined by Manuel Castells term. It refers to the superstructure of a global society that can be described with a reticulated knot consisting of information, power, technology and capital.

Network structures, for example, attributed to a greater potential for innovation in science and industry, because they are in a position to structure Unstructured and yet allow flexibility ( cf. Castells 2004, 76).

The result is a shift of power from a single central concentration, down to the node points where social movements are controlled. In and exclusions of networks are critical to the social situation of individuals.
