The record starts with the ten minute piece Hallogallo, which is one of the most famous and best known of the group. It's a classic New! Title, which is characterized by Dinger's mechanical drum rhythm and Rother's guitar playing with only a few monotonous, but melodic and harmonic chords over the entire length of the track of time. The bass line is not the rhythm, but rather acts as a guideline for Dinger's drumming. This typical New! Style is referred to as motor skills. The piece was a long time used in the TV commercial for Metz flash units.

The second title of the second page, Negativland, is also one of the most well-known titles. It sounds very hard, mechanical and industrial; as Hallogallo this piece is a typical representative of motor skills. The last track of the album, Dear honey, is the most experimental of the album; here is listen to the voice geächzte Dinger.

Effect

The motor skills, as reflected mainly occurs in the titles Hallogallo and Negativland, influenced many artists such as David Bowie for his so-called Berlin Trilogy, to which the esteemed albums Low and Heroes are. The piece Hallogallo was very often played in the radio broadcast of the British Radio 1 DJ John Peel, wherein the awareness lies with justified.
