Neue Donau (Vienna U-Bahn)

The station is a New Danube on May 4, 1996 eröffneter, above-ground subway station of the Vienna U -Bahn line U6 in the 21st district of Vienna Floridsdorf. It is named after the Entlastungsgerinne formed as flood protection 1972-1988 New Danube.

The station building extends parallel to the main line of the S -Bahn on the Danube embankment motorway between Hubertusdamm and the scooter causeway. Exits lead directly onto the pedestrian walkway under the Georg Danzer web. The station has side platforms, one of which carry fixed stairs and lift access to the nearby subway under the Structural reception building. In addition to line 20B, during the summer season for the pool bus 21B are switched, which serves the beach resorts along the Old Danube. The highest passenger frequency, the station every year during the Danube Island Festival: on this occasion a folder service of employees of public transport and more police for security for a rapid exchange of passengers makes. By September 2000, the station was located west of the S-Bahn station beach resorts, but without direct interchange with U6.

In close proximity to the station is since 1979 the Islamic Center of Vienna, the first recognizable built as a mosque in Austria Islamic house of worship.
