Neuilly – Porte Maillot (Paris RER)

The station Neuilly - Porte Maillot is a tunnel station of the Paris RER rapid transit network. It is located in the 17th arrondissement, near the city of Neuilly -sur -Seine below the Place de Porte Maillot. The station is used daily 7500-15000 travelers.

History

The station was opened in 1854 as one of the stations of the Ligne d' Auteuil. This line was closed on January 6, 1985, so they rebuilt and ready to be part of the RER C. The reopening took place on 25 September 1988, so there was also a link to Métro line 1

Future

The extension of the RER E will probably have a stop Porte Maillot.

The district has many jobs, but its development is prevented by the less attractive RER C and by the over occupied Métro line 1. Metro line 1 at peak times between Porte Maillot and La Défense is particularly completely overcrowded. The maintenance of the RER E will bring additional capacity and further increase the attractiveness of the district.
