History

The roots of the company Neuman & Esser date back to the era of the Industrial Revolution. 1830 Neuman & Esser was founded - at that time as " J. L. Neuman & Cie. Maschinenfabrik ".

Johann Leonard Neuman, born 1796 in Eupen, the son of a cloth manufacturer Walter Cornelius Neuman, founded in 1829 with his brother Friedrich August Neuman, the "Gebrüder Neuman ". From 1830 founded " J. L. Neuman & Cie. Maschinenfabrik " emerged somewhat later finally Neuman & Esser after Neuman's brother Theodor Esser ( * 1802 in Lechenich ) partner of the company was. Friedrich August Neuman started his own business with his own company and turned to the Boilers, today's " FA Neuman GmbH & Co. KG" in Eschweiler.

Initially introduced the Aachen company hydraulic presses, Wälzdekatoren, Oszillant steam machines and shearing machines. Moreover, even then belonged to the repair of defective machines for business. 1888 The company moves into a new and larger assembly hall in the Clasenstraße, near the Aachener western train station. 1891 Oscar Peters takes over as the sole owner of the machinery factory. Since then, Neuman & Esser is owned by the Peters family.

Around the turn of the century NEA extended the program to piston steam engines and piston compressors, vacuum and liquid pumps and dewatering systems. 1930/31 following the crushing plants. Neuman & Esser took over from the insolvent company Aachener Mehler the licenses for the construction of pendulum mills of the company Raymond. At the same time, the NEA developed the first oil-free dry-running compressor. The oil-free compressors are becoming an important part of breweries and the stronger food industry. You can also find in the chemical industry is increasingly used.

Since the growing company needed more and more space, refers Neuman & Esser 1972, a new factory site in Ubach- Palenberg 20 km from Aachen. At that time, the engineering company counted 250 employees. Today there are about 890 employees worldwide. Because with the change of the registered office paved the way for the development of the individual companies were asked to group of companies with offices in ten countries.

The establishment of the Neuman & Esser customer service GmbH and its subsequent renaming in NEAC Compressor Service GmbH & Co KG in the 80s heralded decentralization. The acquisitions of Maschinenfabrik GmbH Wurzen in 1991 in Saxony and the supplier STASSKOL piston rod seals in 2001 led to the expansion of the core business for compressors.

More and more, the company has focused on piston compressor and pulverizers. Niche products such as container construction were taken from the production program. In 2008, the fourth generation of Peters, Alexander and Stefanie family, the management took over. Since 2010, Neuman & Esser positioned as Green machine builders and sets with new products on resource conservation and energy efficiency.

Divisions

Piston compressors as well as the mills developed progressively from a single machine to compressors or pulverizers. Although Neuman & Esser Group produces at three locations in Germany, assembly and maintenance of the total investment will only be from 17 companies for sales and systems engineering and service at strategic points around the world. The 20 operating companies are the parent of three holding companies in Germany, USA and China.

In addition to the production of compressors and grinding Neuman & Esser relies on services. Founded in 1983, the customer service was divided NEA in 1988 as NEAC Compressor Service as a distinct society.

Compressors

The piston compressors from NEA compress air and technical gases. Oil-free and lubricated piston compressors in the power range up to 100,000 Nm ³ / h suction volume, 30,000 kW drive power and 1,000 bar final pressure are produced in Ubach- Palenberg and in Wurzen near Leipzig at the headquarters. Where are the larger and the smaller sizes manufactured in Wurzen in Ubach- Palenberg. The core competence in the manufacture of compressors has also been expanded through the acquisition of STASSKOL, a manufacturer of piston rings and sealing systems.

Grinding plants

Since 1930 builds Neuman & Esser grinding plants; started the company with pendulum mills. This particularly robust design of the mill for a long time dominated the market. Although it has been improved in many ways, for example when driving, they have hardly changed to this day basically. In 1994, the market introduction of its own impact classifier, in 1998 received a patent for the NEA.

The areas of application of the NEA mills are located in the ceramic and chemical industries, in pigment production and in processing technology. In recent years, the areas of powder coating production and confectionery and food industry followed.

The NEAC Compressor Service is the service organization for all piston compressor products of Neuman & Esser Group. In addition, the NEA has the original contract documents and original drawings of the compressor brands Linde, Esslinger / GHH, Demag, Mafa sausages, Chicago Pneumatic, Halberg, KSB ( Erhardt & Sehmer ) and PPC ( PENN Process Compressors ).
