Neurossgarten Church

The Neuroßgärter Church (Russian: Новая Россгартенская кирха ) was in the district Neuroßgarten in Königsberg, and received her name to avoid any confusion with the Altroßgärter church.

It was built from 1644-47 as a chorus -less hall building with a flat wooden barrel vault and embroidery caps. Built by 1683-1695 90 m high tower served the Haffschiffern as a landmark. 1667 was this a clock tower and a lightning rod in 1817. 1737 was built by Adam Gottlob Casparini an organ. The beautiful fitted with figural jewelry pulpit dates from 1848. The Crucifix is a work of art by famous sculptor of his time, Isaac Riga ( * before 1653 in Königsberg, † 1715-1720 in Königsberg ). From the Archbishop Ludwig Ernst Borowski existed in the church one of Emil Cauer the Elder created bust on the outside and a picture of Andreas Knorre in the nave, both a total loss of the Second World War.
