Neuvic, Corrèze
Neuvic (NOU Vic in Occitan ) is a commune with 1786 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Corrèze, in the Limousin region. The municipality is the capital of the canton of the same name and is the seat of the municipal association Gorges de la haute Dordogne.

Geography
The municipality is located in the Massif Central on the right bank of the Triouzoune, a tributary of the Dordogne. It is in area after Meymac the second largest municipality in the department.
Tulle, prefecture of the department is located, about 60 kilometers south-west, Ussel approximately 21 kilometers north-east and Égletons about 25 miles northwest.
Neighboring communities of Neuvic are Palisse in the north, Chirac -Bellevue in the northeast, and Liginiac Sérandon in the east, Arches in the south, southwest, and Latronche in Saint- Hilaire- Luc and Lamazière -Basse in the West.
Traffic
The village is located about 20 kilometers south of junction 23 of the A89 autoroute.
History
The name is Neuvic Gallo- Roman origin, novus vicus, meaning new settlement.

Agriculture and tourism (water on the reservoir, golf and horseback riding ) form the economic base of the community.

In Neuvic are all types of schools, including two vocational high schools as well as a cinema.
