New Amsterdam Theatre

The theater is located at 214 West 42nd Street. The theater was built by architects Herts & Tallant 1902/1903 and opened in 1903. Were in the theater at the opening of 1,702 seats for visitors. Owner of the theater since 1994, the U.S. company Walt Disney Corporation. In addition to the Lyceum Theatre, which was built as 1903, the New Amsterdam Theatre is the oldest surviving Broadway theater. In 1980 the New Amsterdam Theatre has been added to the list of the National Register of Historic Places. In 1997 it was renovated according to plans of Hardy Holzman Pfeiffer architectural firms.

Productions (selection)

From October 2006 to 3 March 2013, the production of Mary Poppins was in the theater, which is currently being renovated. As of 2014, the musical Aladdin is planned.
