New Bamberg Hut

The New Bamberger hut is located at 1756 meters above sea level in Kelchsau in the Kitzbühel Alps and is a refuge of the German Alpine Club, Bamberg section.

Way to reach the hut from either the Kelchsau - from the inn in Wegscheid Short in barely 2 hours or from the State of Salzburg, from the inn Ronach on the old road over the Gerlos Salzachjoch in about 3.5 hours.

History

The first hut was Bamberger 1893/94 built by the Bamberg section at the foot of Piz Boe in the Sella Group in the Dolomites. This cabin was expropriated in 1919 by the Treaty of Saint- Germain and awarded the CAI section SAT. This continued the war severely damaged hut repaired and operating it under the name Boèhütte on.

In 1955, the section from the ski club Hopfgarten Hopfgarten ski lodge, whose structural condition is poor and requires immediate renovation work. In 1958, the hut is extended, kitchen, drainage, pressure pipe and potable water are remediated. 1960 finally the Hopfgartner hut is renamed New Bamberger Hütte. In 1962, the ropeway is being built. More renovations follow in 1978, 1991 and 2000.
