New Day Rising is the fourth studio album by American alternative / punk band Hüsker Dü. It was released in January 1985. The music magazine Rolling Stone chose it in 2003 at No. 495 to its list of the 500 best albums of all time and the theme song at number 96 of the 100 best guitar songs of all time.

" New Day Rising " was recorded even before the previous album "Zen Arcade " was published.
