New Morning (club)

The jazz club New Morning is an existing since 1981 venue for jazz, blues and world music in Paris.

The New Morning ( 7 & 9 Rue des Petites Écuries, in the 10th arrondissement ) was opened on April 16, 1981 with a concert by Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers. Since then, there came on, inter alia, George Russell, Stan Getz, Chet Baker, Pat Metheny, Charlie Haden, Dizzy Gillespie, Arturo Sandoval, Dexter Gordon, Kenny Clarke, BB King, Taj Mahal and Didier Lockwood. In addition to musicians from the jazz and blues there guest appearances also singers like Bob Dylan, Jean -Jacques Goldman, Sinclair, Gwen McCrae, Zuco 103, Michel Berger and artists in the world music as Guy Konkèt or Claude divan.

He is one of the most popular jazz clubs in Paris and includes more than 300 seats. In the club numerous concerts were recorded and released as albums, including by Claude Nougaro, Cecil Taylor, Dianne Reeves, Last Exit and Joe Lovano
