New People's Liberation Party

The New People's Liberation Movement is a party in Montserrat.

It stands in the tradition of the People's Liberation Movement, which ruled the island nation under the leadership of John Osborne 1978-1991. The former party was in 1996 part of the People's Progressive Alliance, which established the current party together with the Movement of National Reconstruction 1997.

In the parliamentary elections of 2001 they received 51.0 percent of the vote and seven out of nine seats in the Legislative Council. Osborne, who is also leader of the new party, then Chief Minister was. In May 2006, the next election was held, voted only 29.4 percent for the New People's Liberation Movement. Thus, the party had only three seats in parliament and Osborne had his office at Lowell Lewis exits.
