New Public Cemetery, Budapest
The Új köztemető ( German, New general cemetery ') is next to the Kerepesi temető the main cemetery of the Hungarian capital Budapest and is situated just outside the center in the Kozma út 8, in the district X ( Kőbánya ).
On it were figures of Hungarian history as, among others, Imre Nagy their final resting place.
North of the city cemetery to join the New Jewish cemetery and the Orthodox Jewish Cemetery ( Kozma utca 6). The cemetery ( since 1893 ) gives an impression of the cemetery design around the turn of the century. There you will find, among other things, the mausoleum of the Schmidl family. Built in Hungarian Art Nouveau building was designed by Odon Lechner and Béla Lajta 1902/1903. Typical of the style is among other things the Cladding with turquoise tiles. The flower pattern, which were borrowed from Hungarian folk art, evidence of this.
