New World Computing

New World Computing was an American producer and publisher of computer and video games, headquartered in Agoura Hills, California. New World Computing is primarily known for its RPG series Might and Magic and strategy game series Heroes of Might and Magic.

History

The company was founded in 1983 or 1984 by Jon Van Caneghem and Mark Caldwell. December 31, 1993 to 30 June 1996 was one of New World Computing as a subsidiary company to NTN Communications. It was sold for 18 million dollars in shares and takeover of companies debt of The 3DO Company. With the bankruptcy of the 3DO and New World Computing, the department was disbanded in 2003. The rights to Might and Magic Heroes of Might and Magic and went to an auction at Ubisoft.
