Female Baltimore Oriole (Icterus galbula )

The Trupiale (Icterus ) are a rich variety of bird species in the family of blackbirds ( Icteridae ). This genus comprises 27 species.

Its distribution area extends over the tropical and sub-tropical areas of Central and South America. Some species are migratory and fly to their breeding grounds in North America as the Northern Oriole (Icterus galbula ), flying as far as southern Canada.

The plumage is black yellow in the male orioles orange to black; in females and in young birds it is matte. They have a thin, pointed beak, which is bent forward slightly downwards.
