The New Zealand Sign Language, (English New Zealand Sign Language ), usually abbreviated NZSL is the natural language of most deaf people in New Zealand and has its roots in British Sign Language.

She was recognized on 10 April 2006 by the Parliament under the support of all political parties except the ACT as the third official language in addition to English and Maori.

The NZSL is used since 1994 in the schools for the deaf in New Zealand.
